Girl, You Got This!

As we continue the Waiting is a Verb, Luv series, its time to hype you up a little bit girl!

You’ve been intentional about actively waiting before the Lord, making sure you do your part to prepare for what’s to come and I see you, boo!

This week, I want to take the time to really encourage you, motivate you, push you, uplift you, and remind you of what’s to come! I want to remind you of who God is and what He says about our wait! Teaser: we're victorious!

As you and I have already discussed, waiting is not easy. Everyday, multiple times a day, I ask Holy Spirit for help with this wait. I continually pray that the Lord restores contentment in my current season so that my ambition for next doesn’t cloud my gratefulness of now.

And I am praying the same for you! I’m hyping you, girl! I’m about to remind you of the TRUTH.

So, let’s get into it...

Isaiah 40:6-8 AMP

6 A voice says, “Call out [prophesy].”

Then he answered, “What shall I call out?” [The voice answered:] All humanity is [as frail as] grass, and all that makes it attractive [its charm, its loveliness] is [momentary] like the flower of the field.

7 The grass withers, the flower fades,

When the breath of the Lord blows upon it;

Most certainly [all] the people are [like] grass.

8 The grass withers, the flower fades,

But the word of our God stands forever.

Let’s start here before I really hype you because we must know that the Word of God that we are about to dive into stands forever! The Bible says that the Word is God and it is alive and active. We know the God is not a liar (more on that later) therefore His Word is not a lie. Stand on that as we download these next few scriptures into our spirits.

Isaiah 40:27-31 NLT

27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?

O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?

28

Have you never heard? Have you never understood?

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.

He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.

29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.

31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.

They will soar high on wings like eagles.

They will run and not grow weary.

They will walk and not faint.

I often have to check myself because sometimes I complain to God about my feelings of how he may be ignoring my plight or unconcerned about certain prayers I bring before Him. I know that’s not the truth but the restlessness from waiting can have you feeling all types of ways, chile! This verse reminds me that in those times of weakness, the Lord is there ready to give me new strength to continue the journey despite my temporary waves of doubt. How comforting!

Deuteronomy 7:9, 12-15 NLT

9 Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.

12 “If you listen to these regulations and faithfully obey them, the Lord your God will keep his covenant of unfailing love with you, as he promised with an oath to your ancestors.

13 He will love you and bless you, and he will give you many children. He will give fertility to your land and your animals. When you arrive in the land he swore to give your ancestors, you will have large harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and great herds of cattle, sheep, and goats.

14 You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young. 15 And the Lord will protect you from all sickness. He will not let you suffer from the terrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all your enemies!

We have chatted before about how the Lord responds to obedience.

It can be frustrating when you try to remain faithful and obedient but the Lord is faithful to each and every one of His promises. Keeping with His promise to reward our obedience, let’s move on to the next scripture.

Psalms 18:22-24 AMP

22 For all His ordinances were before me,

And I did not put away His statutes from me.

23 I was [a]blameless before Him, And I kept myself free from my sin.

24 Therefore the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness (moral character, spiritual integrity), According to the cleanness of my hands in His sight.

Like I’ve stated in The Pink Print: The Girlies’ Guide to Success, our motivation for doing what He has told us to do shouldn’t be for personal gain, it should be to glorify name of the Lord and simply because we want to please Him with our lives as worship. But just know as a result, He will honor that.

Numbers 23:19-23 NIV

19 God is not human, that he should lie,

not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

20 I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

21 “No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed[a] in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.

22 God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox.

23 There is no divination against[b] Jacob, no evil omens against[c] Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’

I mean, need I add anything else? You are blessed and no one can curse what God has blessed. I decree over your life that after this particular waiting season, it will be said “see what God has done!”.

James 5:10-11

10 As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord [as His messengers and representatives].

11 You know we call those blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] who were steadfast and endured [difficult circumstances]. You have heard of the patient endurance of Job and you have seen the Lord’s outcome [how He richly blessed Job]. The Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

Period! This is why it’s so important to remain in our Word daily because when I’m in my pity party, the last I’m thinking about is Job and his plight. But this reminder helps put things in perspective. Another great representation of patience is Abraham! It took over 20 years from when the Lord spoke of him bearing an heir to when his son was actually born. I know now would be ideal but the Lord’s timing is perfect.

2 Peter 3:8-9

8 Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day.

9 The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

In this text, the apostle Peter is referring to the coming of Christ but I believe we can apply this to our current situation. If the blessing we are waiting for arrives too soon or is forced by us, surely it won’t be the blessing it was meant to be in the Lord’s perfect timing. Let’s remain patient, girlies.

Look girl, you got this! The Word says so! Now you say so! Not only should we meditate on these scriptures, but we should speak it aloud over our circumstances!

When you read the Word, read it aloud. The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word (Romans 10:17) so in order for your faith to be built, you have to hear faith! Speak it!

I’m praying for you and I speak victory over you!
