In Part 1, I shared some of the Lord’s thoughts and plans regarding this season of mass birthing and we discussed a few symptoms of a spiritual pregnancy.

4. Your spirit is sensitive.
One of the most telling signs that a woman is with-child is her sensitive sense of smell. All of a sudden, her nose is like a hound dog's, picking up every scent, smell and odor; most of which she finds terribly displeasing or weirdly pleasurable.
Similarly, a person with-promise like yourself becomes spiritually sensitive. You sense a shift is taking place even though everything looks the same. Your dreams are more frequent and vivid; you can even sense Holy Spirit impressing on you to do or not to do certain things. You may not be able to put your finger on it but you feel the happenings of the spirit realm a little more than before.
You’re being led to particular Bible verses, random people and topics drop in your spirit during your prayer time, new gifts may have even been deposited onto you; there’s a heightened sense of Holy Spirit. He is ready to use you for His glory.
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit”
Joel 2:28-29
Mass birthing of promise, calling, anointing, etc is taking place in this season by way of Holy Spirit. If you feel more of His presence or have heard Him speak clearer than ever before, He may be readying you to birth well!
5. Your cravings have increased.
Long gone are the days in which you can go a few days without praying or reading the Word of God. As He has stripped you of what was, you find a new craving for what is: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
You want to know what He’s saying. You want deeper understanding of scripture. You are depending on Him now more than ever; and even though you always leave satisfied, you still crave more.
Here’s really good news!
“Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God]. Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and what is good, and let your soul delight in abundance.”
Isaiah 55:1-2
You are craving more of what will prosper you and the promise; everything you are yearning for, He’s given to us as a gift! Just like prenatal vitamins or healthy foods benefit a carrying mother, scriptures and intimate time with God strengthen, equip and prepares you! It’s like food and vitamins to our spirits. Your soul will even delight in abundance when you partake!
6. Labor pains are intensifying
Let’s be real, birthing ain’t for the weak! Especially if you are nearing the end of your spiritual pregnancy. The enemy is enraged that his previous plans were canceled and his weapons didn’t prosper; he’s relentless, persistent and knows his time is short. The kingdom of darkness knows that what you are getting ready to push out will shatter its foundations to the core. They want to stop it but the only way they can do so is if you allow them. Remember the One who gave you the promise in the first place and strengthen your tent stakes in the ground! (Remember the instruction of the Lord from Isaiah 54 in Part 1’s podcast episode?)
Submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 AMP
The Lord tells us to REJOICE in this hour! That is an instruction and command! That’s how you are to break forth. (Watch more on that here) The minute we complain, worry, fear or confess what is contrary to the Word of God, we come into agreement with the plan of the enemy, allowing Him to legally steal, kill and destroy.
It’s also important to note that intensifying labor pains can simply be the natural happenings of an impending birth.
For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us! For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed…. For we know that the whole creation has been moaning together as in the pains of childbirth until now.
Romans 8:18-19, 22
Protect your promise and endure your labor pains with rejoicing! Praise is your epidural!
7. The Lord told you
The last symptom may be a bit of a “DUH” moment but in the busyness of life, we often forget the prophetic words of yester-season. The Lord may have already told you that you’ll be birthing a glorious promise. Because the Lord knows the end from the beginning, He has a way of speaking to our present with a future perspective. Certain prophecies won’t be naturally manifested until many years later but I believe the moment God speaks is when promise is implanted, regardless of the due date.
I’ve learned a great way to keep the promises of God in front of me so that I never forget what He said. As the prophecy is going forth, I record the audio on my phone and later on, transcribe it word for word in a notebook. I’ve also found this practice to be a great bonding moment for Holy Spirit and myself.
WERK IT OUT!
Faith without works is dead so let’s WERK IT OUT! Take the following questions with you in prayer and thought:
What do you sense Holy Spirit is impressing you to do currently? It doesn't have to be a grand instruction. He will usually lead with a small seemingly indirect step towards where He is leading you. If you are unsure, ask Him.
Every day this week, identify 2 areas of your life that God has provided for or protected against. Spend the day praising the Lord for His hand in those areas.
Review any past prophecies the Lord has spoken to you. Read any past transcripts or listen/watch to any past recordings. Try to remember what He has spoken and compile it all in one place like a notebook. If you haven’t received any prophetic words yet, ask the Lord to send a fresh word regarding his thoughts towards you via His Word or a true prophet.
