Create like The Creator: 5 Way to Create Like God || Side Effects of the Called Creative: The Series

Updated: Apr 19

Hey Called Creative!

Speaker and entrepreneur, Myron Golden said something that offered an interesting perspective that I hadn’t previously thought of. He said before the Bible introduced God as Provider, Miracle Worker, Father, King of War, God of Peace, or any other names we know Him by, the Word introduced Him as Creator

In the very first book, in the very first verse; there it is, plain as day.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

I love that perspective!

The Lord is not just a creative, He is The Creator. He created creativity! And He introduced Himself as such.

If you’ve read Side Effects of the Called Creative, then you and I have already gone down that rabbit hole so I won’t bore you with it again.

A few weeks after arriving at that new perspective, I was minding my business, reading through Psalm 104 when revelation after revelation started popping up and hitting me like bacon grease on a high-heat griddle, highlighting just how fire The Creator really is!

The scripture was revealing not only that God creates, but the way in which He does. I was learning HOW God created and it was so delicious to me, Called Creative, I had to share with you; not just for the savoring of our spiritual palette but for our practical implementation.

We just don’t want to create. We want to create like God, effectively representing and glorifying Him while we do it.

Here are 5 ways to create like The Creator.

1. Create for holy pleasure.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 4:11 KJV

All things are and were created for the pleasure of The Lord! He had fun knitting the bodies of you and I in our mother’s wombs, coloring the sky blue, and giving the clouds its shapes.

We, too, are to produce for holy, righteous pleasure. Let everything we create delight the Spirit of God living on the inside of us. We’re supposed to have fun as we bring life into the ideas He’s given us.

Whether producing art work, logistical systems, landscaping layouts, original music, basketball plays, or choreography – let it be for holy pleasure.

Yes, our creativity is to glorify the Lord & be a vehicle of the gospel, but it is also to be pleasurable for us as children of the Almighty so rejoice in the creativity of your works through Him!

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; May the Lord rejoice in His works.

Psalm 104:31

2. Create with wisdom.

O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—

Psalm 104:24

God creates with wisdom! All of creation was made by His wisdom.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.

Proverbs 3:19-20

If that’s not enough, wisdom herself testified that she was in the mix when creation was brought forth:

“I, [godly] wisdom, reside with prudence [good judgment, moral courage and astute common sense], And I find knowledge and discretion.
When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight,Rejoicing always before Him,

Proverbs 8:12 AMP, 27-30 NKJV

In order to produce at the elevation in which He is calling us to, Called Creative, we need wisdom beyond human comprehension.

So let us ask for wisdom!

For we know that God gives it liberally and without reproach to anyone who asks (James 1:5).

3. Create from a place of authority

In Genesis, we see that all creation came to be by the spoken word of God. He spoke confidently and with authority, knowing who He was and He had what He confessed.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Genesis 1:3

I believe if we’re operating in anything less than our God-given identities, we will not be able to create and produce at our highest ability.

If we’ve adopted a poverty and lack mindset when in reality, our Father has provided everything that we need according to the riches in glory by Christ Jesus, then our creations will reflect that.

If we identify as powerless peasants even though through Christ, we are to rule with dominion as king and priests, then our productions will reflect that: powerless and suitable for peasants.

Knowing who we are and whose we are will enable us to arise to the fulfillment of our mandates to produce, create, pioneer, and trail blaze.

4. Create with systems

He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the [exact] place of its setting.

Psalm 104:19 AMP

God is the ultimate businessman. Automations didn’t just recently make its debut in this millennium. The Lord invented automations when He created the heavens and the earth. There are systems still in place today that He only had to set one time at the beginning of time.

Talk about efficiency!

Called Creative, we are to create with efficiency and with systems.

Efficient: performing or functioning in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort; having and using requisite knowledge, skill, and industry

Systems & automations in their rightful places allow us to continually bear fruit without unnecessary toil!

The Lord isn’t toiling! And neither should we!

He isn’t coming off of the throne to work and bring about a result that He has already created an automated system for.

If we plant an apple seed, an apple tree will automatically come forth.

Winter comes to an end, then spring automatically follows.

If you believe what you ask for in prayer [according to the will of God], you automatically will have it.

All of these are automated systems!

Efficient systems will also create a seamless adaptability for those who will come to work alongside you.

This would definitely be a great opportunity to refer back to point number two and ask the Lord for wisdom as you create systems of efficiency.

5. Create unselfishly

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth,
And wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.

Psalm 104:14-15

Not only did the Lord create us for His glory but He created everything that we would need to be effective, healthy and joyous as we carry out our purposes.

How kind of Him!

Are you producing for the benefit of someone else’s effectiveness, health and joy like the Lord has done for us?

Let us ask the Lord how we can create for others, expecting nothing in return, the same way as He has created for our benefit.

There ya have it, Called Creative!

Which one of these five ways can you resonate with the most or would like to grow more in?
